"Visions" Album Cover
Grimes said when she was making this album cover she was watching "Enter the Void" by Gasper Noe. Which is a 'psychedelic melodrama' an out of body experience. The artwork was all hand-drawn by her. There are also some Anna Akhmatova quotes inscripted in the right hand corner on the bottom. Anna Akhmatova was one of the most significant soviet russian poets of the 20th century.
Tracklist
Visions was fully debuted in Febuary of 2012 through 4AD. This was the first album fully released with 4AD after signing with them. In an Interview with "Pitchfork" Grimes was asked to describe it in three words she chose: Psychdelic sci-fi Twee. What Twee exactly is, is still a mystery. According to the artist it was the first album she thought people would actually listen to. Her process for creating the album was quite euphoric. When asked about it she said "I thought I should do everything I can to possibly go insane, it would probably lead to something good" She had initally gotten the idea from Hildegard Von Bingen at the time, who was a 12th century composer, who was in a clositer for 15-20 years. Basically a cage to communicate with god. So she decided to do something similar but less extreme. She would lock herself in her room and would black out all the windows and continue this for two weeks. There was claims that she had fasted for two weeks but Grimes herself disproved it. She later released the album but had felt that some of the music videos to it couldn't be released due to personal factors.

MEANING BEHIND THE SONGS
Inside of the Liner notes in her album was pages filled with meanings of her songs. Some of them are a reaccount of the trauma that she endured during her first few years as a musisican. While others were accounts of her miraculous thought process. Etiher way caution is warrented and be mindful of what you are reading. If you find it triggering I'd caution to sit this one out.
