Art Angels was released on November 6, 2015, through 4AD. In an Interview with "Pitchfork," Grimes was asked to describe the album in three words, and she chose: Orchestral, Emo, and Production. She was really into Paramore at the time of making the album. When asked about what was the inspiration for the album? she responded "Man it takes so long. Albums are like your whole life goes into making an album. You know?! Everything that's ever happened to me I suppose is my inspiration or like half of the things. Realistically over a long period." She was able to break boundaries with this album to the core. Within it, the majority of the sounds contain feminist elements and psychedelic noise. As of now, it is very hard to find the meaning of the songs so artwork according to the Grimes collection was used as an alternative expressive muse.
